Well I can't wait to go on my mini vacation here in October.. Taking the family to the beach for three days.. Nothing better then sitting on the beach, watching the sunset. maybe even fly a kite who knows. Not sure if I will be done with my bk by then, but that is the only time my hubby can get off from work. Another reason I'm going in Oct. is it's my birthday..

I spent a lot of time on the rugged beaches of Northern CA where I was raised. We both miss the surf and the sale air but this is better for us money wise and such.
Besides, this is where I kidnapped the wife 40 years go. She was born in Tombstone.
So in a way I bought her home in 1993 when we bailed out of CA. I could see what it was becoming then.
But if she passes on first I may just find myself some salt air and spend my remaining days there.

          Best wishes on the homeschooling!

I hear ya on taking children with autism places. Both my sons are autistic (severe) and it's down right hard. They love the beach also. My oldest is drawn to it just like his mommy. We used to live in WA and vacation in CA at Disneyland when the boys were babies. They loved it so much. One of the biggest parts of our decision to move to Southern California was to live closer to Disneyland so they could experience it more often. They seem so content there....again just like their mommy.

It is a small world after all !! I have two girls who are autistic.. What are the ages of your boys disney ? Mine are 10 & 12.. do you home school as well ? Reason I plan on to only home school my oldest is, the youngest has a great Autistic unit at school, and she'll be ther another two years, after that not sure what I'll do then. wow it's great sharing my story with some who can relate to what i face everyday

sorry ken .. didn't mean to get off topic here

My boys are 9 and 7 1/2. They've been homeschooled since Kindergarten. Before that they were in the Birth to 3 program and developmental pre-school. Oldest was diagnosed at 28 months, youngest at 11 months.

OK, well all of the sudden that final charge with Disneyland hit my account so they did take it after all.
I called my bank, and as Disney says they will refund the money they will not file a dispute on the charges and I guess that's OK too.
In the meantime they say that Disney has 30 days to refund the money. I hope that we have it by then. If not we are not going to have much money to celebrate the following week.
Update~I just called Disney and they say that the charges were fully reversed on 8/4 but they also say that for the machines to talk to each other that I will not see the monies for 7-11 days.
Oh well, I got a full refund as demanded, I just don't have it yet.
Funny how getting your money back always takes longer than taking it does.
At least it appears that this BS is over for us. On to better things!

My new neighbor just came from there. Lost her job but like us she was retired anyway.
Like she says, now if she could just sell that house she has there. It's rented but she just found out her renter lost their jobs too!
Maybe they will all be joining us here?
I know we had another vacancy to the other side of us and they were an older couple, also retired from Vegas, and they could not sell their home and wanted out too. They went elsewhere to rent however.
I guess Vegas is hurting just like many of us.

We are not sure yet. We want to make sure we get that refund in hand and that staying the weekend days does not cost us a lot more money than during the week and sometimes they do.
I know from the infrequent times we have booked places to go before that Friday and Saturday nights can cost more as do holidays.
Bette is always someone we have liked and it would be a treat to see her I am sure. I understand she puts on a great show too.

I don't go through the school district. I buy curriculum and use various free things on the web. Are you going through the school?
