Asking if YOU benefited is kinda stupid, IMO. Why don't you ask if you ever won the National Lottery? I expect most here would say no, and that proves it's a useless scam.

The Recovery Funds are widely dispersed. School Districts, State Dept. of Transportations', State HHS, Energy Programs, and low income housing programs are getting the largest share of the funds. Every school district in the nation has benefited from this program. Unless you are a teacher or have kids in public schools you probably will not benefit from that. So you'd rather they just send you a check?

If you are really interested in where the funds are going in your area, and who is benefiting, below is a good site to start. Just enter your zip code into the interactive map and you can see the $$ spent in every project in your state, county or town. I've noticed much of the money received in my county has yet to be spent as of June 30, 2010.

The overall effect on jobs is never going to be obvious to most, unless you are one is working because of the program. It's a drop in the bucket compared to the millions unemployed. But better traffic control, resurfaced roads, smaller class sizes, and green energy research are not things that most will ever consider useful to them personally. That's just the way most people think.

Job calculations are based on the number of hours worked in a quarter and funded under the Recovery Act.
Have I benefited from the Recovery Act? Well as a retiree, not so much, other than that onetime $250 deposit into my social security deposit account - but I have benefited in indirect ways - a new branch library, more traffic lights with camera control, fewer potholes, and less crime as the hungry poor don't have to steal to afford to eat. The Recovery Act mainly kept the boat from sinking in my State. We still don't have any sails (or wind).
