How to change phone number to avoid creditor calls at work?

    I'm considering BK.

One thing I really want to avoid are creditor calls to my work. I can deal with the calls at home, but I know somewhere on some CC app is a work number or something they may have to call me there... At least for some of them.

Have any of you gone to your online profiles on various credit card companies and changed or "updated" phone numbers to try and delete your contact info! I can't imagine it's that easy...but wondered what tactics you all have used.

I can always change MY number then they can't get me at all...but I was worried about the potential embarrassment of getting a bunch of creditor calls at my office if they have that number and resort to calling it...

    Any advice or suggestions?

Once I do file BK, then they should stop calling right?

Yes, the calls should stop within a few days.

As to them calling your work #, tell them that it is strictly forbidden for you to have any personal calls on your job. If that doesn't work, send them a c/d letter and tell them to pound sand......

I had 3 different credit card companies call me at work. When I told them this is my work number and I am not allowed to receive calls at work (which is a lie), they confirmed that they had the right home phone number and said they would not call my work number again. They all kept that promise.

I simply went online and changed my contact numbers on my accounts. I don't work anymore so I simply removed the old work numbers. I had no problem doing this at all.

You could get Google voice, put that number in for all contact and just let the calls come in.

If they do contact you at work, do as others stated, tell them no phone calls!!!!
