I've posted about this before but as an after thought - before my neighborhood issue was resolved (a band of drug squatters who took up residence in a foreclosed home across the street from me) I was so frustrated I wrote my state Senator about it, not so much to complain about the police but more to ask him to help put a law into effect that would help the police in these situations. Because for a long time the police said they couldn't get them out because even squatters have rights. It wasn't until I found a special unit within the police department who deals specifically with this issue did it get resolved.
Last night I got a voicemail from a police officer totally kissing my ass.....he said he was all over it and he was going to end it yada yada. He obviously didn't know this issue had been resolved and had me left me his number I would have called him back and told him all was well now. Too bad special units don't communicate.
So today he and a squad show up at this house - bullet proof vests on - the whole nine yards with their gear. I see them outside and go out to let them know that all is fine now.
But long story short - I'm amazed at what writing my Senator did and wish I had done it in the beginning. So if you are dealing with a similar issue it certainly does not hurt to write to either your congressman or senator.
