I really needed this. Thank you for posting it, AngelinaCat. After our BK and surrendering our cars and house three years ago, we're actually on much more solid financial ground. Having said that, I've been really down about my kids' performance in school. We moved them out of a private school into a more academically demanding public school district. I've tried working with them myself to no avail. Now, I'm having them tutored three times per week and their grades are worse than ever.
Believe it or not, this post actually made me feel better. It helped me realize that no matter what I do, I will always worry, that's what good parents do. When they get home, I will just love them up, not bark at them about their grades and begin the process of letting them forge their own way.
