If you used credit or debit cards abroad from 96 to 06...

If you used debit or credit cards outside the U.S. during the period of Feb 1, 1996 to November 8, 2006 you may be entitled to a $25 or more settlement from a Class Action Lawsuit.

You have to fill out the form by May 30, 2008.

If you spent only a week or two out of the country in those 10 years then you should choose Option 1 probably and just go for the standard $25 rebate.

But if you were out of the country more than a month or so total then you may want to go to Option 2 where they calculate how much they think you would have spent and base your rebate on that. It's my thinking that someone like me who's a pretty thrifty traveler and was out of the country for about a month each of those years, will probably get more back by letting them estimate my expenditures while abroad (Option 2).

go to www.ccfsettlement.com to fill out your form before May 30th 2008.

Hmmm. I was in Canada in Oct. 2005 for a week. I guess I'll have to look into it. I was kinda POed to see the currancy conversion fee when I got back and looked at my account. I was at a training session for work and I can garantee that currancy conversion was not part of my reimbursed purdeum.

For the $25 settlement, you only need to have used your credit card for an out of the country purchase. You weren't required to actually travel out of the country for this.

I was checking an old Chase annual review of my charges for 1999 and found I purchased some software program from a company in Germany. So, between my $300 stimulus rebate and my $25 settlement check this year, I'll be rich (for a couple days)!
