    Hobbes

Hi everyone, I just added my picture. That is my cat "Hobbes," (male) pure tabby, he is now 11 pounds and only a year and 4 months old. He is quiet a character, and a snob, and a bad arse, if you take a closer look, he looks like he is strutting, than he was only 5 months old.

I rescued another cat just outside my apt. another tabby - who was nurturing newborns, I took them in and gave them up to the SPCA (excellent animal rescue operation business.) So if you are into animals and need one rescued, SPCA won't kill it! In trade for her kittens, they gave me free shots for the mother.

Anyways, sorry to sound like I'm advertising, I'm not.

Have a great day everyone, I LOVE THIS SITE!

Great job! We took on a beautiful stray mother last year, she was buldging and it was getting cold outside. She gave birth right after we let her in, and we gave her and kittens up to a cat rescue place. The sad part is, the mother ended up testing positive for feline leukemia. She & kittens had to be isolated from other cats until the kittens could be tested and potentially adopted. That was the last I heard of them, but the good news was that those who had the disease (its contagious among cats) would be sent to a cat reserve place just for cats that have leukemia.

      Hobbes is adorable!!!!!

I'm a cat lover, big time! I have been involved in many rescues, some where I took the cat in and some where I spent months trying to find homes.

One time in particular a litter of kittens was born between the two buildings I where I worked. By the time we found the kittens mom has disappeared and they were quite sick.

I rescued them myself, with a cat trap where you lure then in with food and the door shuts. I took them to the vet and got all their shots and had them treated for all their illnesses and paid the entire vet bill myself. Then when they were ready to come home from the vet, I bought them home and let them live in my house till I could socialize them and find homes for them.

When the people I work with found out what I had done, they took up a collection and presented me with approx $1,000 that everyone at the office had donated to help me pay the vet bills and the ongoing cost of keeping them.

That particular rescue was heart wrenching for me and I've not been as involved as I used to be.

Anyway, I have 3 cats, all rescues. Every cat I've had in my life has been a rescue.

      I love animals
