How much is allowed for recreation/entertainment?

This is something I've never given much thought to. It's one of those things that we've deprived ourselves while we were struggling to pay off our creditors. But, my husband mentioned a magazine that he would like to subscribe to, and I've been wanting to get an zoo membership. But, I can't find anything on allowances.

So, how much is too much?

That is really going to vary by trustee and other items in your budget. The entertainment budgets reported by members of the this board are all over the place. I don't remember any more what mine was. Check with your attorney about what your trustee will accept. You should be able to fit in a magazine subscription and zoo membership.

You can get some great deals on magazines. Be sure to look around for best price. Someone on ebay or elsewhere ALWAYS has a deal,sometimes as low as a coupla bucks a year.
