    lawyer letters

I just received two more letters from lawyers that say they can help me because they have noticed court records stating chase bank vs me , case # xx-xxx-xx.

I cant find anything against me in the county records in which I live, I have not received a summons .
Will it be coming soon ? I have an appointment with a lawyer next week.

Once I get the summons how long do I have to respond ? I dont want a judgement against me and not know anything about it.

    Is that possible ??

The creditor is in the process of serving you. You will receive the summons in the next few days. They file it with the court first, but the clock doesn't start ticking until you are served.

    Good Luck

Depending on jurisdictions, I think it is usually 20 days if personally served, 30 days if mailed. Will be on the summons. Don't think you need to answer, but you do need to respond timely. This may be motion for extn of time. Not an attorney/not legal advice.
