Rebuild Credit W/O a credit card

I'm just curious if anyone has rebuilt their credit after bankruptcy without a credit card?

DH will be filing in about 1 month. We will be reaffirming our car and truck and of course our students loans that can't be discharged. We are living in a lease to own house right now. I'm really not wanting to get any credit cards at all after this process so has anyone ever rebuit their credit without a credit card. Is it even possible?

Your credit rating is based on your credit history. No credit history = No credit rating. In order to obtain good rate loans in the future, one must do some rebuilding after BK.
    Bankruptcy History:
    Chapter 7 filed - 10/12/2005 - Asset
    Discharged - 02/16/2006
    Case Closed - 11/08/2007

Since you're reaffirming your auto loans, those tradelines will still be reported to the credit agencies and will help boost your score with each timely pymt.

Yes, your autos will help and if you have a house or are planning on getting one, this will help also.

Unfortunately this isn't always the case. Just because you reaffirm does not mean the company will report that you are paying on your loan. Just be aware of this.

True, I have read where some posters have stated that they've contacted that lender and had them agree to still report to the credit bureaus.
