    Well, lets see.
So far we are at 25 months and counting.
10 different creditors with about $110,000 in debts.
+ a bunch of medical bills totalling over $20,000.

All have been through at least 3 different collections agencies by now.

We are still at the same address and have the same phone number.

The calls would go through cycles. Sometimes there would be a lot, then there would be hardly any. Usually they would taper off after I would actually talk to one and just tell them. Go ahead, sue us, then I would tell them how much I make right now, and that my wife is still off work due to a medical condition. They would hang up and I would never hear from them again, and everyone else would quit calling too.

Funny thing is, when you have nothing for them to take, they really aren't that interested in you.
We went from 2004 - me making $25K and my wife making $18k
to 2006 - me making $20k and my wife not making anything and needing $200 a month just to cover the co-pays on her perscriptions becaue I make $10 too much a month to get a medical card to supliment my employers health plan.

Would love to file, but the cheapest I have been able to find a lawyer to take my case is around $2,000 which we can't afford. And every year when I think we will be able to use the tax return to hire a lawyer something comes up.
Like blowing the motor in my 1984 Celebrity and having to go buy my 1987 Park Avenue
    7/01/10 - filed!
    11/20/10 - discharged and closed

I seem to see lots of people whose situations were similar to the above, only being sued for debts $6-$7k or more....all mine individual debts are much less than that and I'm wondering if some of them will be overlooked.

Is there a website I can go to for information on certain creditors and at what limits they choose to take legal action? Most of my unpaid cc debts are $1000 or under, and my dad seems to think they will be "charged off" and no action taken, other than my negative credit report of course...I do have one debt that is just over $3000 and wondering if they will sue me for that one? The problem is, that debt is with Chase and I hear they are the real go-getters, so to speak. Two of the debts around $1000 are also with Chase. So, not sure if they would combine those and then I'd have a $5k debt with them? So far, of the Chase debts, only the $3k debt has gone to a 3rd party collection, Pentagroup Financial. I've also gotten a letter from ACB American, Inc and it's for a debt just under $600 from a department store. I have gotten calls from an LTD company but not sure what debt/amount they are calling amount.

I'm just wondering, if I only have ONE debt that I may be sued for, is it even necessary to file BK...if the others will just get charged off and stick around my credit report (which I'm no longer worried about at this point) then it seems maybe it's not necessary for me to file.
