Help with Conversion from Chpt 13 to Cpht 7

Hello, It seems that you all got it together. Lets see if you can assist me with this problem.

I am currently in a Chpt 13 (to save a home). I no longer have the home and would like to file a Chpt 7 (to stop making monthly pymts). What is the process and if this process would be go to go pro-se? Texas filing.

    Thx,

You just make a Motion to Convert and pay the $25.00 difference in fees. If you are no-asset, then this would be better as you won't have a complex Chapter 7. Not having the home certainly helps in that cause.

Depending on which District you are in, you may or may not have to amend your schedules as well. This is tricky, because the fee for changing D,E, or F (or the Creditor's Matrix) is $26.00. Also, you may need to qualify for a Chapter 7.

You should get the NoLo eBook on Chapter 7 if you want to go Pro Se.
    Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
