Here is my stats. I have a credit card I still use from time to time but only for groceries, gas, just the gotta haves. Other than that all my other cards have almost 6 months no use. I do have a boo-boo though. I used my chase card in January, bought some furniture nothing too expensive, it was a $1200 dollar purchase on the card. I never made a payment on it after that. I used the card from time to time prior to that over the course of a year or so. The balance was $5200 after that purchase, the balance is now 6000ish. I did balance transfers to a new citi card in November/December 2007 to the sum of $13000. I was told that the payment would be around $176 on the transfers. I called prior to even completing the transactions. First payment came due in January and it was $500. I paid it and then called to ask about the high payment. I was told it would be less the following month. After I made the payment, I used for lunch twice and rented a moving truck to move. my next payment was again $500 and I couldn't afford it, I have not made a payment since January. All other cards are current and up to date. I am filing in June and I am wondering if I can go a head and stop paying, it's killing me and I can barely afford to support myself. I meet with my lawyer Thursday but I would really appreciate some advice now so I might be able to actually sleep. Any thoughts, suggestions or comments would be helpful. Especially on the Chase and Citi cards.

There is a 90 day/6 month rule concerning luxury charges and balance transfers in relation to creditor objections that you may want to do a search on. Those threads should give you a good idea on where you stand and what you might can do. You need to be very careful because you may be stuck with those balances after the BK if you don't do things just right.Filed 4-21-2008
