    Update - Happy Endings?

    Good Morning!

Awhile back I posted that I was having some issues at my house which is in BK foreclosure.

Evidently, my old neighbors complained to the town that I wasn't cutting the grass, I had a pool in the backyard without a CO, and I was having some issues with the Town refusing to shut down my water service.

I had a girlfriend go over the house to check on it and she told me there was a summons on the door from the Town fining me $500 for not cutting the grass. In the meantime, I get another letter from the town telling me I have to remove the pool from the backyard immediately.

Well, Friday, I had a contractor at my home (which is 400 miles away) and he removed the pool, but the backyard still needs to be filled.

Anyway, he called me Friday night to tell me there was a notice on the front door about the grass, but he read it in detail and it DID NOT SAY I HAVE BEEN FINED $500, it said if I didn't cut the grass by Oct 6, that I would be fined $500. (I could just kill my friend for not really reading it, would have saved me much stress - since she could have let me know the deadline was Oct 6, two weeks ago, instead of finding out at 8pm ON OCT 6).

To make a long story short, I called all weekend trying to get someone to cut the grass for me. I finally found a guy that runs a landscape business and he's going over there TODAY and will have the yard completely cut, edged, and weeds removed by 10am AND he's charging me only $35!!!!!!

Today is a holiday, the Town is closed, so even though I missed the Friday dealine, by the time the Town comes out tomorrow morning, the grass will have been cut!

So, I avoided the $500 fine, and avoided prosecution for the illegal pool Feeling really happy about that.

But, knowing my old neighbors it will probably just piss them off that I didn't get nailed with a fine and they'll find something else to complain about.

But for today, all is well, life is good, and I'm anxiety free!

Peope cant mind their own business !

What about the hole in the ground ?

I cant stand it when people just can mind their own business ! You should place security cameras at their houses ! Even fake ones, and make them paranoid!

But for today, all is well, life is good, and I'm anxiety free!
Wish I could feel like that EVERY DAY !

LOL CMIYC!!! I was telling my husband this weekend that we should put signs up that say "WARNING, THIS PROPERTY IS UNDER VIDEO SURVEILLANCE AND TRESPASSERS WILL BE PROSECUTED"

I also thought about emailing a girl back on that street that is the town gossip and tell her:

GOOD NEWS! WE'RE MOVING BACK BECAUSE MY HUSBAND GOT A JOB WITH THE TOWN IN THE CODE ENFORCEMENT DEPARTMENT"

      ROFL

Now only would she WET HER PANTS, the gums would be flapping BIG TIME! LOL LOL She knows everthing about everyone on that street and RUNS HER MOUTH. The culprit of the complaint would be fearful that since hubby was going to work for the town that we would find out who complained, and they would still be living next door. Long shot, I know, but it would be funny.

PS: The hole in the ground is being filled today and tomorrow. I however, will NOT relandscape. It will be a big mud pit, but its surrounded by a 6 foot fence that is padlocked shut. Town says that's OKAY!

I also feel blessed that I live 400 miles away and didn't have to see that pool demolished.

We have many many very fond happy family memories of that pool and of my husband's kids when they were little.

It was a family gathering place, and we spend many happy hours in and next to that pool. *sigh*

Thanks Cab! This story has taken many twists and turns since I posted this and it ain't over yet! LOL

It just keeps going on and on and on. Eventually it will all be resolved, but right now, it's not over!

I won't go into all the gory details, but let's just say that my checkbook is still smokin'

YIKES! Good luck with all that JFA. So, when you say the pool was illegal... how come? You had a fence that's padlocked. They actually had to dig the pool out of the ground? Geesh, that must have been VERY spendy. We have one of those nosy neighbors too. I think everyone does, lol.

                Hi miss puff!

Yes, it was illegal because it didn't have a CO (certificate of occupancy), and since the pool was 4 inches too close to the property line, couldn't get a CO and the town would not 'grandfather' the pool in, despite the fact that it's been there 15 years. Thing is, I couldn't tell them exactly how long the pool's been there or they would have tried to charge me back taxes for the years it was there.

So, yeah, major excavation going on in the backyard. And it cost $1,000's of $$$.

And of course, the town didn't let it end there. They are nit-picking me to death.

I'm to the point that I know them all on a first name basis! ROFL!

I'm seriously thinking about moving back to the property for one month. I'll sit in the window with my cell phone and call the cops for every single infraction I see. I will report the other 8 people on the street that have pools and spa's with no CO. Just yesterday, one of the complaining neighbors had his commercial vehicle parked on the street. That's a no no! Plus, my contractors have told me that the neighbors are using my driveway for 'extra' parking.

Oh, I could have so much fun. One of the guy's that reported me to the town - his kids love to work on their cars in the street and have all their friends over who like to indulge in some illegal "stuff" - RIGHT OUT IN THE STREET AND IN THEIR DRIVEWAY. You can't miss the tell tale AROMA! LOL (think PINK FLOYD CONCERT )

Oh, I could have so much fun with them. But, I won't. What goes around, comes around.
