Hey everyone, my husband and I are trying to decide whether or not to move forward with BK. Besides about $13K in cc and medical debt we have an upside down vehicle we would like to dump and an upside down home that we MAY want to include.
My question is this...if we file say a Ch 13, approx how long could we stay in the house payment free before a FC? Unfortunately I know it's not a long time since I'm in Texas and we are a non-judicial state. I just wasn't sure if a bankruptcy changed the timeline a bit. I would like as much time as possible to be able to save to move to a new place.
Or I considered the possibility of trying to delay a FC as long as possible with partial payments, modification requests, etc, save as much as possible then file. I figure it would be best to try and find a new place before either bankruptcy or foreclosure hits our credit!
