Has any one been involved with Direct Express that Social Security is partnered with. My understanding is that your SS check gets directly deposited and is protected from seizure. I know other banks are required but that doesn't always happen.

Unfortunately, while exempt from seizure bank accounts are generally fair game and the SSI recipient finds out when his or her accounts are drained. If ONLY your exempt funds are deposited, you can write a letter to the bank informing them of such. If you owe that particular bank it is time to find a new bank. They can seize to offset.
SSI (I think) has its own debit Visa card these days. It may be worth looking into.First consult: You go now, no CH 7 for you. You spent entire buffet. 13 has a 95 percent payback. (Owwwch) On to next consult....

i use direct express for my ss...it is issued by commercia bank...and my understanding is that it ONLY accepts ss.. or ssi..so the creditors KNOW this is exempt funds..you cant deposit other funds into it...so they would be wasting their time and MONEY to try to seize it...i have a judgment and have used the card for quite a while now with NO problems at all...they send a email when your ss funds are deposited...and if you go into any bank and withdraw cash there are no fees.....works great....
