Law suit or judgement added to credit report

I just got a credit alert that a suit or judgment has been entered into my experian file. The entry shows citicards for $8851, but shows no case number or other info. My account was handed off to GC Services I dv'd them and received the CMRR 8/26/09 and never heard anything until now. Does this mean they are suing or is just a scare tactic? Where's the magic 8 ball when you need it?

Oh and before you ask my last payment was in March. Pretty quick

Before you are sued, you would have first been notified and then a summons. So I believe you are right in the fact of a "tactic". 'Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

Check with your local court(s) online. You should get some status as to what is going on.

I'm not sure that a CA or creditor can post a judgment to your CRs. I think these show up in your credit report when the reporting agencies get this info out of court documents. I'm not sure. My past judgments all showed up under the public records piece of my reports. Pull your credit report and look.

I just checked my Experian. All of my past judgments show up at the beginning. They show the county court and the case number. All of my judgments are currently satisfied (paid,) but they do all show up.

                  Sewer service?

If you DV'd them in late August and they sued right away and you never heard about it or answered it, right about now is when they'd be getting a default judgment.
filed chapter 13..confirmed...converted to chapter 7...DISCHARGED!

I just checked my report and today the debt reported as charged off on transunion. The suit entry has no case number or any other pertinent info it does not show in the public records section. I guess I'll check with the clerk on Monday.
Would they have to sue in the county I reside in?
