I have read that AMEX never sells cc debt, but is there a sure fire way to verify that one way or the other? Is there anything I can look at on my credit report that would verify that AMEX still owns the debt or if they sold it off to a JDC?

How to Verify OC Still Owns Debt?

I called the OC and wanted to discuss the account, but they immediately gave me a number to call. When I called the number, it was Resurgent Capital Services, which I believe is a CA. If the OC actually sold the debt to an JDC, would they tell you that point blank?
The last time a payment was made to the OC on this was back in Oct 07 so it's going on 2 years. I can't imagine AMEX keeping this debt for that long without writing it off and selling it to a JDC, but I could be wrong.
I guess I need to check the credit report to see what's on there.

GE Money Bank not only sends me letters still demanding BK information, but they have CA's calling me too, and when I DV or CD them, they send it out to a new one. So, I am a regular customer for the post office. I just dont see why they just dont immediately sue and just get their money, instead they try to harrass you to death until you pay, a tactic that is not going to work on me, besides, I have no money to pay them out of my normal expenses.

Optimistic, I'm also keeping the PO in business. I posted a month or more ago about how I see folks filling out green cards at the PO. I can't help but notice that many are sending letters to CA's/JDB's. I have even taught a few folks how to stick on the green card, and get the fold just right for the certified sticker.
I think I posted all this a while back, but maybe we could open up a kiosk and subcontract mailing protocols for CA/JDB's.
Oh yeah, the original post. There are several CC companies who do not sell debt for years. When they sell and why they sell is anyone's guess.
After 2+ years of defaults and dozens of CA's I've only had one account (BOA) sold to a JDB. The JDB reports to my credit, but once I sent them a DV request and cease and desist, I never heard frmo them again (about a year now.)

Believe it or not, when Advanta was toying with me, I would get these letters from D&B telling me to protect my business credit, blah blah. Who knows, maybe they report these accounts to D&B. I believe this also included an offer to buy my credit history from D&B, gee thanks. I don't really recall if these were from Advanta or D&B, probably partners in crime.filed chapter 13..confirmed...converted to chapter 7...DISCHARGED!
