It was obvious something was wrong...make sure you inform the attorney who did the probate on your dad's estate as they will need a short certificate (proof of death) in order to close out that account...also, pull your credit reports in a few months to ensure they make the change out of your name.

        Joint Acct With Att Universal?

I am having the same problem I had with Chase with ATT Universal card. They say it was a joint account with my deceased father. I asked for proof. They say application is not available as accout is so old but that it has been joint account from day one as far as they are concerned. They have collection agency calling me now. I talk to them and tell them I am not joint holder and they say they put my name as primary on account. I say I did not authorize and round and round. I am still writing them but all they have is a post office box in South Dakota. Is there any way I can prove I am not joint card holder. Their stand is my father should have told me it was a joint account. Please help once again.

You don't have to prove anything. They do.
