How long does it take after electronic filing....

It's official my case has been filed electronically, so how long for your creditors, junk debt collectors and etc get notified?

is it within a few days or does it take awhile?

    A few days, usually.

We were filed electronically, but because it happened at 4:30 PM on the last business day of the year, it took probably two weeks for everyone to be notified. This was on a Friday, with a long holiday weekend ahead...

So what do I have to expect? The calls and mailings will stop, not that I got too many mailings but calls.

Creditors I am reaffirming debt with, can I expect to be heard from them prior to my 341?

If you have your BK case number when they call give it to them and that should stop the calls if not sooner. We did that with some creditors they also wanted our lawyers name and phone number never heard from them again. Pam

I was kind of amazed at how fast the news was out. I paid my T-mobile bill about 2 days after I filed, about two days before it was due. A couple of days later I checked my T-mobile account and see a credit for about $70. I didn't know what was going on so I called. The refund was due to filing BK, I still don't quite understand why, but OK, and I've been paying every month since and all is fine.
However, T-Mobile was not listed anywhere on my BK, so they were not notified from the court. I think the electronic bots go to work ASAP.

If you are reaffirming the debt, then no, you won't hear from them. You will have done what THEY want. Whether that is in your best interest or not is between you and your attorney.

The creditors you want to worry about--if you really can't think of something else better to do--is the creditors that you don't reaffirm. If one of them is American General Finance, now known as Springleaf Financial Services, you might have an *interesting* 341. American General sent reaffirmation papers, already filled out except for our signatures, to our trustee. We had already expressly declared in our filing petition that AMG was one debt that we would NOT be reaffirming. Nevertheless, AMG sent the papers to our trustee, who handed them to us and said: "you might want to discuss this with your attorney."

We took them home and shredded them.

But most likely, nothing will happen, and no one will show. 99.9% of 341s go smoothly.

              Good luck to you.
