    What to bring to 341?

As most here know, my 341 is fast approaching on the 23rd. I began to get a folder together this evening with any items I can think of to bring. The only required items, from what both my attorney have said as well as the court paperwork, are my driver license and social security card. As of now, though, I have one year's worth of bank statements, my last three years 2008-2010 of tax returns, and copies of the certificates that say I did the credit counseling course and pre-discharge course. I know the trustee already has all of that information, but I am bringing copies just in case.

I'm asking now in order to give myself more than enough time, about two weeks, to prepare and gather anything I cannot think of. I am still hoping I will need none of it, and the attorney is accurate when he insists it'll be 3-5 minutes and nothing more than two or three questions, but you just never know, especially after reading some of the horror stories of 341 meetings that were 'supposed' to go well and ended up not-so-well.

Oh, and no cell phones in the court house. So I WON'T bring that in with me.
    Decided on Chapter 7: October 13, 2010; Retained Attorney: October 20, 2010; Filed Chapter 7: February 4, 2011; 341 Meeting: March 23, 2011; Discharged: May 24, 2011

Bring your drivers license, your social security card, and whatever else your attorney tells you to bring. Nothing else....

I agree with Frogger. Your attorney should have already sent all your documentation to the trustee. If they need anything else after the 341 than your attorney can get it to them later. I don't think I would want to turn anything over without my attorney reviewing it first and having a copy of it.

OOPS - One more thing in addition to license and SS card - take a copy of your petition with you.

We were asked to bring a snap shot of our account balances on the day we filed. Photo ID's, SS cards and since we had just filed our 2010 taxes prior, we brought those as well. Oh, and attorney said to bring most recent paystub.

Thanks for the responses! Everyone is right, and I would especially like to say to SunshineGal that you made me do a rather large "duh" to myself. *IF* I bring in all of this information with me, and IF the trustee would ask for it, it would be foolish to just hand it over without my attorney looking it over first.

Like tobee43, I was about to go in with everything, but, you know, perhaps that is why, at least so far, my attorney has said just my D/L and social security card.

We were also asked to bring our car titles and appraisals (from kbb or a dealership) but that was just our trustee. If you don't receive instructions from your attorney or the trustee for anything else, it's not going to be a problem.
Filed pro se, made it through the 341, discharged, Closed!!!

My attorney wants me to bring SS card & driver's license and bank statements from all accounts reflecting the amount in each account on 3/7/11 (date of filing) and that's it.

Bring two copies and you can hand one to your lawyer and the other to the trustee. It's not like your lawyer can do anything to change what's actually on the document (bank statement, investment account statements, etc) anyway, and at least this way your case isn't held up any longer than necessary.
