My 341 meeting was today ya'll!!

yeah i said ya'll.... ha ha ha... i am from virginia. but really i do not have an accent. anyway, the meeting.....

i got there early but had to run back to leave my cell phone in car... ha ha... not allowed in there.

and in one of the cases before mine.. the lady actually ASKED the trustee if she won the lottery could she keep it. his exact words were.. "if you bought the ticket any time before your filing date, then it is mine... but if you bought it after the file date then its all yours to keep...' great! i was wondering that same question.

then he called me and my attorney, my attorney had provided my older bank statement from when i first handed my paperwork over so the trustee wanted one from on the date i filed back on january 21st. then he asked about my tax return, and wanted a copy. he also asked about the garnishment the company had collected on and wanted more information because he wanted the money back. my attorney said i could probably exempt it if they got it back. he asked about the loan on my house that went into foreclosure -the dates etc. and that was it!!

i was so relieved for it to be over. but i wanted to thank all of you for providing all of the support and wealth of information that is shared so that i was more prepared today.

the trustee said he just wanted to see my bank statement with my balance on the date that i had filed to match to what i had exempted on the homestead deed and filed with the circuit court. on that document i had exempted my jeep and bank account. and the trustee needed the papers backing that information up; such as the jeep title and statement from bank. i had provided the title and statement but the statement was older from when i had first given the stuff to the attorney back in november.

THANK YOU!!!!! So I guess it may be worth bringing that to 341 and being overprepared is better than underprepared.....

Congratulations! I'm very happy for you. As I posted in a thread I started a couple of days ago, my attorney just asked me for my 2008 tax return and, as you noted, my most recent and last three bank statements. I fully intend to bring a year's worth with me, just in case, but I am told that the trustee will not be asking for them, but it will make me feel better.

My 341 is coming up on the 23rd, and I hope it goes as smoothly as yours!
