    Corporate credit cards

I found an older thread started by Brokered regarding an AmEx corporate card and it made me think. I have a company card in my name, it's required for my job. I filled out the application a few years ago when I started the job. I filed last August and as far as I know it hasn't affected my corporate card. My company uses Chase. Also it doesn't show up on my credit report. Is it more likely I am just an authorized user and therefore it shouldn't be a problem?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or experience!

    Hi discombob,

CC companies usually react to the BK notice which went out in August in your case. If they were going to do something they would have already done it by now.

Curious, did you list the card on your creditors matrix?

I didn't list it, it never occurred to me. I used my credit report to check the schedule and it's never shown up on there. I never get the bill or pay if, I only code and approve the charges into the correct budget line item. I did have two Chase accounts so they were notified. Maybe they decided to leave it be since my company is technically liable for the charges. I do remember signing an agreement saying they pay all charges provided it is used for legitimate business items only. I've always been very careful with that. Guess that's why I'm wondering about being authorized user vs. account holder.

The way your company handles it is what we did back in the day, you are an authorized user not account holder. I dealt w/ the Army, state university, state division of wildlife and thats how they all did it; authorized user, not account holder.

But here I have found out that some companies now require you to open a card for work w/ your credit making you an account holder. WTF

The authorized user vs account holder can be answered by Chase or the company accounting dept.

Personally, I would let sleeping dogs lie...

This sounds like a true corporate card and should not be affected by your bk.
