    Question regarding Schedule I

    Hello all -

I'm filing a no-asset Chapter 7. I haven't worked "on the books" in a year, but I've been doing odd jobs (leaves, lawns, snow) etc. to scrape by to the tune of $250 a month cash. I'm not sure how to explain it on Schedule I. I'll report it on my taxes, but I don't think that qualify as "self-employed".

I can't document this income with pay stubs or check images. How do I document this on Schedule I, and how do I explain it to the trustee?

    Thank you!

    Hi orange88,

Schedule I is 'reasonably anticipated' income and $250/month is chicken feed (or less)...might have to explain to the trustee how you get by on so little!

Scraping by on odd jobs is about as self-employed as you can get, your tax return may be the documentation you need for the 6 month lookback. There is also a "Statement Under Penalty of Perjury Concerning Payment Advices" (or similar) that self-employed folks can use.

Hope the big storm hasn't pounded you there in RI...but then again some snow might mean snow shoveling jobs....
