Got the Discharge Letter From The Court Today For Chapter 7 Banrkryptcy

This is my first time to file for bankrutpcy. Mine is straight with no assets. Today I got a letter from the Bankruptcy Court that states Discharge of Debtor And Final Decree. However there is an attachment that my attorney needs to comply with since one of the creditors listed changed address. But this creditor is an acquisition creditor who bought the original account. Would that affect the discharge?

no it shouldn't at all....just the corrected address information needs to be provided....sounds to me like congrats are in order!!!!!!!

All of a sudden my phone stopped ringing. I filed my bankrutpcy in July and had a 341 meeting on September 25, 2010. And got the court letter today Nov. 28, 2010. I am not going to apply for new credit cards since I am retired now. And I am so glad that I filed for bankruptcy instead of this debt consolidation. Ten years from now I will be 74 and have no plans of buying a house either. Just a simple life.

I was able to get the status of my case at PACER and printed some documents. Case was closed Nov. 29, 2010. Filed Aug. 27, 2010, 341 meeting Sept. 25, Closed Nov. 29, 2010. But I have to pay also PACER a dollar to view some of these documents which was charged to my debit card.

Since this is my first time to file for bankruptcy, I want to make sure that my case is closed which I found out when I went to PACER. My attorney has been very helpful and guided me in every step during the process. And tobee that would be my last time to go to PACER.

tobee43 ...thanks I can hardly wait. My timer is down to 5days 15hrs 13min. I put 1 day of fudge on it too.
when i check pacer i only check the file date to see if it has changed on Case History. So i am looking at .16 each time i go on there. So with 6 bucks to go i calculate how many times i can check it before end of next week! ROFL
