Help! 10 days from discharge and Pacer says no cert of financial education....

    Help! 10 days from discharge and Pacer says no cert of financial education....



    Saturday - I did email my attorney, but Pacer has documents that I haven't seen yet that say I haven't completed my financial education class and that my case will be closed WITHOUT discharge!

    I did the 2nd class on line and sent my cert to my attny and brought a copy to my 341... Its saturday so I dont expect to hear from my attny until Monday, but I'm freaking out!

    Is there another class that I dont know of? I did the pre-filing class - and then a second class from the same website prior to my 341...
    App for debt consol loan from WF who held 100% of my unscrd debt - DENIED.
    Went to LSS for CC - couldn't put together a plan that my creditors would accept.
    Final alternative? Bankruptcy... Filed Ch 7 (over the median) 7/28/20, 341 Meeting 8/27/10. Awaiting Discharge...

    call your attorney monday morning and he will take care of it
    the second class should be AFTER the 341,yes?

      Also - if I gave both my attny and the trustee the certificate - who dropped the ball??? Whose responsibility is it to make sure that the certificate I submitted is acceptable? I cant figure from pacer as the only notice I can see they sent is to me...

        Sounds like you did the financial class before your 341. You may have a problem there. You may need to do it again.

          My attorney said we could do ours before or after our 341 - just don't forget to do it!

          Try and stay calm until you get a hold of your attorney Monday morning - I know easier said than done.

            Hi lfllfl,

            Technically the class needs to in the 45 days after the 341, I have seen one post where the court was picky about this and lots where it didn't matter.

            I would think that if the online agency was approved for the pre-BK class it would be approved for the post-341 class....

            Common things occur commonly...simple oversight by your attorneys office is most likely the cause. I would be very proactive about this b/c it could derail your case. You can file it with the court yourself, and it shouldn't matter if they get two copies.

            On Monday you shall have your answer.....

                There is also a form that has to be filled out and signed in addition to the actual certificate, Official Form B23. I had that problem, I filed the certificate with the court without that form and had to resubmit. Maybe that's the problem?
