Mortgage Statement after Filing Chap 7

Since filing Chapter 7, I have been getting a very strange statement with regard to my mortgage. I was owing $186,000 before filing and now is says that I owe $76,000 and that $110,000 was paid on the principal. This is the 2nd statement I've received and I havent been discharged. The hearing was on 7/2 and I am still waiting.

Is this a mistake that they will rectify after I am discharged?

It looks so good on paper.

Unfortunately filing Chapter 7 (or any other chapter) does not lower your mortgage balance. In a chapter 13 you can possibly strip a second, but that is different than this. Lol!

Sounds like there is a mistake somewhere. You could just wait it out...odds are they will find the error at some point. Or you could call them. Personally, I would keep making your payments and wait it out.

I wanted to see about modifying to get a lower interest rate than the 6% I am paying right now. I also have a 2nd with the same bank for $248,000 and they havent sent me a statement since the BK. My hands are tied until this gets cleared up. I would prefer not to owe the $110,000 they are claiming has been paid and just hurry up and pay the $76,000. But this is unrealistic, a bank would never make such a mistake and not rectify it later.
