I had my second meeting with my lawyer(first 2 years ago but I had to wait for a house transfer)
I reminded him of my case surpisingly he remembered it quickly. Guess it was my face as I am a guy you remember 6'5 470 pounds
plus my business debts are not ones most would have.
I went over my income since it had went up. He said my ssdi was no issue and niether was my va education money. I told him I would be getting my student loan refund next month for $6200 bucks.
We went over my big debts and some of my assets. He told me they would go with private party value on my jeep. Then take off the loan that is on it which is $9300 give or take 200 bucks. Then cut the remainder in half since my dad and I are on the title together . A total screw up at the dealer and bank that saved me some trouble. When I got it I guess since they had my dad cosign the lot put him on as an owner to make finance easier. Well it helped so guess I need to say thanks. LOL
He told me with indiana exemptions I can exempt about $8,000 to $9,000 for my stuff. Figure $13555 for the private party value minus $93300 which leaves 2127 for my half off 8k in exemptions which leaves me $5,879 for exempting my stuff. he also told me not to worry about my clothes(ant a big market for huge used clothes) or like my old bed. he said they would not care about my clothes. So even with my student loan figuring
1500 of that for my BK fee, food, some clothes, new laptop and tires I will have room to spare with my exemptions.
he also told me to wait to file till I got my student loan refund and spent it.
So when I get tires which will cost me about 1000 bucks will they need to be exempted or figured with the value of the jeep since they would be on the jeep? I doubt they would improve the value since YOU HAVE TO HAVE TIRES.
Thanks for your help guess nice to not have to worry about it all for some time.
