    Ex's Bankruptcy

I have just been notified by my mortgage company that my ex-wife filed bankruptcy using my address as her residence. Not a surprise since I've found that she was at least using my phone number with some of her creditors as they harrassed me for her unpaid debt. This is creating some uncomfortable circumstances for me already and I don't know how this might affect other things regarding my credit.

Thing is, I certainly want to get the residence address on her filing corrected. Anyone know how I might go about this?

I really can't afford an attorney as I just spent $13K defending myself in court against my ex who wanted to have the initial agreement altered. I was awarded attorney's fees. But needless to say, she hasn't paid a cent and did include them in her bankruptcy.

I have not been through this, but my best guess is to call the court and report that the address she is reporting as her residence is incorrect.

      correcting address

      Hi greengo,

I agree with 'angles' Go to the bankruptcy court website and get the # of the court clerk and call them. They will be able to tell the procedure to follow, shouldn't need an attorney.

      Good luck,
