Transportation Allowances

Hi. Been reading and learning here for months!

According to posts I've read, it seems you can claim both the operating costs and ownerships costs for a vehicle in some districts. When I did the means test for PA it automatically included both costs.

Does this mean my district allows it? Or is there some place I can look it up?

At this point, waiting for some cash advances to really age and still paying card but will stop next month.............start consulting atty's.

Just wanted to know if anybody knew the answer in advance as it will help me with Sched J expenses.

My understanding is that you can claim both if your car is financed and you are making payments on it.

I only included operation costs since I owned my car outright. But I was able to also claim public transportation because I use that to get to/from work as well.
