Newbie Question about car surrender to GMAC!

Hello Everyone!
I am a 25 year old female from Columbus that is currently filing for bankruptcy . I have a meeting with my lawyer next Tuesday to finally file but I am scared to death. When I actually had to sit down and write all the amount I owe creditors it SHOCKED me: cry: for about the past 3 months I have fallen back on everything but my life insurance and rent. I owe everyone from target to GMAC to care credit. I recently had a leased 2008 Chevy Malibu but I fell back on payment to the tune of about $900 and when I first started payments he told me not to pay them if I was going to be turning the car in with the bankruptcy but I thought I was going to keep the car? I ended up realizing that no one was going let me buy the car after my lease so I surrendered the car to my GM dealership in JAN. At the beginning of MAY the sent me my bill stating that I owed around $6100 I am just afraid at the 341 meeting that isn't going to be cleared and that I am going to be responsible for paying that bill?! Has anyone had any problem with GMAC when filling?! THANKS FOR ALL UR HELP!!!

The bankruptcy will discharge that $6,100. That's considered "unsecured" debt at this time. It's called a deficiency and was created by the difference between what you owed on the 2008 and what they sold it for at auction.

You should not worry about this at all.
