It's "tax REFUND," not tax return.

Sorry, this is a pet peeve, but please please please...

You file a tax return, the return is the form you fill out.

A tax refund is the money you receive.

Let's try and get it right.

The next person that refers to their tax refund as a tax return is getting slapped.

Does this really need to be a sticky? Most of the stickies are awesome, but with too many, it gets a little annoying to scroll down so far on every page. I think anyone knows what you mean when you use either term. Maybe we should make a bunch of stickies for common misspellings too?

Ha! Mine's never a "return" because they never return any money.

I filed my tax refund under my mattress!
Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick

Mine is a return...as in "return more of your money to us...millions of welfare kids need new iPods and depend on you."

Haven't got a refund in years. Guess that's what happens when you don't get the child tax credit government handout.

I got my tax 'refund' amortized over the entire 2009. Now that I am completing my 'return', apparently they want a lot of that back!

Oh well. Pay $3k tax bill by April 15. File BK June 1. Life is good.

                            And definitely NOT an attorney.
