Also, save some cash. It's much easier to rent from a private landlord, and overcome their fears about your bad credit, if you can offer them an extra month's rent for security deposit beyond what they usually ask for, or whatever.

Not here really, people just live in them untill when ever. Then they get kicked out and the banks sell them quick.

I had to do this. I've already secured a place to live using this method with a big property management company (they were having trouble renting the place out as well). I got turned down by another place before I did this because I have an open bankruptcy case. My attorney advised me that I do not want to get an eviction on my credit AFTER bankruptcy and I think that's good advice, so I'm timing my move very carefully. I want to see if they offer me cash for keys before that.

I have no issue with renting. Here in AZ anyone can rent anything as long as they have about 2 Grand.

          I am not worried about renting. . . . . I am trying to buy a house cash. . . . No, I am not made of money. . . I am on here. . LOL. . .

You can get a decent house here for 50-80k.

I'm in AZ, I got my notice 3 days after the sale, I think you have 30 days from the date on the notice to get out. eta:I found the notice in the front yard, the wind knocked it down, thank god I found it

That is my worst fear. . .

How long after the discharge did you get the notice. . . ?

I got the notice about 10 days b4 the discharge, the lender was granted Relief from the Automatic Stay, I didn't fight it. The sale dates were canceled many times though-it sold 2 months after the 341. If you call Freddie Mac, ask them who the local realtor is handling your property.
...I wish they put the notice in the mailbox or rang the bell with it.

Holly crap. . . That is fast. . . How long have you not paid? I am on month #6.

I am ready to go really, but the longer I can stay here the closer I get to buying another house cash. . . . . I can get one now, but not a very nice one. . . . The house that I am in only now goes from 5-60k, I owed 250k

Here in Arizona after the home is sold at auction they are required to post a 5-Day Notice to Vacate. What is done many times is you get the 5-Day Notice is to call and find out who the realtor is like mtbc posted. Many times they will do Cash for Keys and give you 30 days to GTFO. That usually only works if the loan originator is the winning bidder. If its a family they are still required to give a 5-day Notice to Vacate and then if you still don't leave they must evict you which would take at least another 30 days. Be very careful though, if your home is sold and your not home the new owners may change the locks and then your screwed and will have to get the sheriff involve to get your goods back.

Myself I wouldn't want to force an eviction which may be put on your credit report as a public record and may hinder renting in the future.
