Calling at work

Just wanted to see what everyone thinks.

All the phone numbers I gave out for credit cards and loans for my job was an 888 number. You have to go though an automated system with a contract number to get to me. If you don't have a number you get transferred to a receptionist then they would have to ask for me. Do you think these cc compaines will wait about 30 seconds to hear the automated message everytime then try to talk to a receptionist to get to me? or is that just to much work for them?

How did cc people contact you at work. Did you give a direct line to yourself?

I told my receptionist to just screen the call. She's really nice at doing that and none of the calls stopped within days when I asked her to tell them I no longer work here and to no longer call the business
