I was discharged yesterday and I still have not heard anything from my auto lender. I'm fine with that. My lawyer said to keep paying them on time and I can keep my car.
Here's my problem though. I looked at our credit reports and they are showing that we missed a payment in February. I had 2 tragic deaths in my family that month and all my bills were paid but they were all late. The deaths occurred the day after dh's payday. I had sat down to pay bills when I got the call. It was almost 3 weeks later before I could wrap my mind around my checking account and pay everything.
My question is does this need to be fixed? Does a late payment look better than no payment at all? DO I dispute this with Equifax and show them my canceled check or what?
