Do I qualify for Chapter 7 now?

When I began laying the BK groundwork I was unemployed, now I have a job, albeit a very low paying one (under 30K), does anyone know if I still pass means test? I have no other assets, not even a car. If I pass, then I'm going to shoot for an August filing. If I don't and have to file a 13, then I'm shooting for October.

P.S. Is cash itself considered an asset? If it is, this is the only asset I have at this point.

Never mind, just noticed there are a bunch of stickies on these issues. With my expenses listed out, even if I stretch it, I will still have about 500 bucks left over. However, I am not yet permanently employed, I am on an assignment via a temp agency, and until I am hired on, not sure if I would qualify for a 13.

if you are currently staying rent-free, you can say on your petition that you expect to stop living rent-free (your friends/family don't have to let you live rent free thereby financing creditors), and that your expected rent is some amount that's reasonable in your area. that would wipe out the 500 easily...

Yes,cash is an asset that you will need to exempt.

I would run through a means test at something like "legal consumer" and put in your numbers to see if you qualify.
