have my 341 date..also have a question

Hi all,
I have my 341 date. I received my packet of papers that were filed for my chapter 7. My question is this, on one of the papers it lists my credit cards that I have debt on. It also lists the place where I reside. I am a renter. Why is this listed? This is supposed to be just a credit card bankruptcy.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Because you have to list all contracts that your are in-such as leases.

I asked this very same question a few weeks back. And from what I understand...if you are on a one-year lease then the landlord gets notified of your BK. If you're on a month-to-month lease...they don't. I have an appointment with my attorney next week. I will see what he has to say about this.

My lease goes from a one-year lease to a month-to-month lease at the end of August. My filing date is scheduled for Aug. 10th. If I have to move my filing to Sept...I will.

My bankruptcy is on my credit cards...not my landlord! It just doesn't make sense!

dang that sucks so the ppl in the office will know. That to me makes no since because it has nothing to do with them. Well by the time my att filed my case my lease expired. My new one starts tomorrow. I wish I would have known it was going to take this long to file because I would not have wrote it down.

Yeah, it does suck...big time!

But every case is different. I was told right away that my landlord would be notified of my bankruptcy. If you weren't told then maybe...just maybe yours won't be. It might not hurt to call your lawyer and find out.

I think they may have been notified because last month they ran to the bank with my rent check something they never do. I was like wow...weird they ran to the bank with that check now I know why.

I think it may be different for different districts as I am on a year to year lease and asked my lawyer the same question. He said no, they are not notified. He said the only way they would find out is if they ran a credit check on me prior to the next renewal (fortunately, I had just renewed weeks before filing).
