    FICO scores and credit reports

The last time I pulled my FICO scores & credit reports was back in February just before Experian stopped providing then (f-ers!). At that time my scores hovered around 490-510. I filed for Chapter 7 on 3/20/09, my 341 was on 4/29/09 and discharge is scheduled for 6/29/09.

I signed up for the MyFico Score Watch today so that I can monitor my FICO score over the next year. I was quite surprised to see that my score had jumped UP to 609! I'm not discharged yet, but my cc's all say IIB (even my student loans, even tho I know they are not dischargable).

My question is...is this normal? For your FICO to go UP during bk process? Will it drop drastically once discharged?

A few months before I filed, my FICO was around 630 and was almost always around that or higher for many years before that (tho I was never in the 700 club).
    Filed Chpt 7: 3/20/09
    341 mtg: 4/29/09
    Discharge: 6/30/09

Mine was pretty low (like 490s) and then when I filed it jumped to 530s. Then it went back down after discharge. I am in the process of making sure everything is reporting correctly and reestablishing my credit, so I guess I'll have to wait and see how my score reacts. I think if your credit is pretty tanked before you start (lots of baddies, collections, public records, etc.) it is normal for your score to go up initially. I also noticed that some of the collection accounts dropped off my report. I'm hoping in 2 1/2 to 3 years I can buy a house with an FHA loan.
