    Worrying over working pt status

My husband owns his own business that no longer brings in a dime (this has been for about a year now) so he decided to go to school to make something of himself-he is a hs drop out. Me, I work part-time with 2 places. Neither place has FT employment status and both jobs put together gives me anywhere from 16-24 hrs/week. I was also in school over the last year as well and had no childcare for my kids nor could I afford to put them in daycare as my husband was in school FT. I was just wondering if I'm going to get in trouble for not having FT work and a non working husband who did look for jobs but had no luck.

I plan to file for BK sometime soon.
I was worried it would look bad if I only work Pt and can't afford the bills. Even if I worked FT, I couldn't afford the bills anyway. My husband had been paying his part of the bills with the income he had once upon a time when his business was working (we didn't combine accounts after we married). When that money ran out, we started to accrue debt because I couldn't keep up.

I seriously doubt they would look at you in a bad light. The economy's terrible, the job market even worse. A lot of people are settling for part time (or 2 or 3) jobs to get by. And going back to school to educate yourself isn''t a bad thing either, since it most probably will lead to a better work position down the line.

You do not have to be employed to file for BK.

But, before you file, make sure you can support your family after BK. You should wait to file until you are financially stable.

You don't want to be in a position of having you BK over, then something happens and you incur a mountain of debt that you will not be able to get out from under for aanother 8 years or so. Like Fltoo said, get stable first (if than means sideline jobs, moving in with relatives, or whatever) then file.
