Money question in checking accoutn

I got my tax return and am filing in the next 2 weeks for bankrupcy. I live in Kansas where there is no exemption for cash. What can I spend money on to prepare and be ok. I read that food is ok. How about tires for my car. Any advice on what to do with 3000$. I am unemployed and this is my last money.
Can I pay advanced rent.

All you mentioned is exempt. I'm not sure about advanced rent. Buy no toys and only storable food in advance. Some utilities you can pay above the owed price and have a credit memo against future bills. These "savings" my not be evaluated as true expenses as even our electric bill deposit became an assett.
