Should I keep paying student loan debts? DO I get a short break?

I am filing March 2. I have one large monthly student loan payment-- I know I don't get to discharge it.

But could I stop paying it through the course of the BK- cause they can't bug me, right? They can't call me and etc?

Doesn't it essentially "freeze"? Or no?

I don't want to pay it. It's freaking I think Sallie Mae- the only one of my 3 student loans that wouldn't give me a hardship reprieve. I guess I just want to TAKE the reprieve until the BK is done and my finances are re-set.

But, does that mean at the end of this they'll say I'm 2-3 months behind at the end of the BK and demand a triple payment? Or does it just :freeze: while I'm sorting out this BK and mess?

My student loans are consolidated with Chase. They just put me into a forbearance period while my case is open. It will still accumulate interest, but I do not have to make payments during this time. I had sent in one payment before I realized they did this and called when it cleared the bank but didn't post to my SL account. I called and she explained the forbearance. She said that any payments I make during the time are optional, but that they won't credit them to my account until my BK is closed (Ch 7). I don't know if everyone handles student loans the same way or not.
