My credit score is rising only six weeks after discharge. What are some average post-filing scores and how long did it take? Mine dropped to 593 and within four weeks is at 620. That gives me hope as I approach a 700 mark and I will work doggone hard to get there. I've responsibly opened new credit cards and am very reluctant to put anything on them that I can't pay off right away.

While paying things off immediately is certainly a good plan, there is no score benefit to doing so, and oddly enough, if all of your cards report a balance of $0.00 in any one month, your scores will actually take a hit. In my case, when I fail to let one card report say, a $20.00 balance, I take a point hit of anywhere between 15 and 25 points.Chapter 13 (not 100%):- Burned: AMEX, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and South County Bank cum Bank of Southern California
