Meet w new attorney tomorrow to start the 13 process

I am very nervous! But my number one goal with filing is simply to sleep at night. Not tossing and turning with worry, and to shake the anxiety!

Once we file and get everything going, how often do you have to go back to the trustee?

You go to the meeting of the creditors, known as the 341 meeting. That is usually the only time a debtor sees the trustee.

$143,000 in debt discharged for $36,500, including attorneys fees. Money well spent!

Better yet, you probably won't even meet the Trustee. It will likely be one of their staff attorneys. As LITR wrote, since you filed with an attorney, you will typically see the Trustee or her representative once, and that will be the 341 Meeting. Debtors don't generally appear at any hearings unless they are giving testimony related to some other issue (typically related to valuation or a hearing on sanctions against a creditor for contempt of court).
      Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10
