I have been discharged for only 4 days and have received an offer for credit already.
Is there a way to stop credit offer solicitations? We have a car that is on a loan that we secured while still on our case. We were approved to incur debt from the court 3 years ago. We are planning on trading in the car in February when or if we receive a tax refund. I have 2 prepaid debit cards and that's all I want right now. We need to rebuild our emergency fund, 401K and put money aside for a small condo in about 2 to 3 years.
I was pretty good with money before our case. We had to file because my husband was unemployed for 15 months prior to our marriage and he was living off of his credit cards and he lost his home to a foreclosure. My credit was good before we filed.
It's amazing how these creditors find out that you're discharged so fast. I think it should be against the law to entice people who struggled just to pay bills for 3 or 5 years with offers of credit. That's how most people ended up in bankruptcy to begin with.
Thanks for any help.
