What is the signficance of a ClAIM from a creditor

My lawyer filed chapter 13 for me a few weeks ago. My 341 meeting is in 8 days. My lawyer just sent me a claim from a creditor. Is there any particular meaning or significance to this? Or, is this just part of the process and an FYI for me?

    thank you!!!

In order to get paid in your plan, a creditor must file a claim. It's part of the process. You should review the claim to make sure it is accurate If it is, there is nothing else to do. If it is innacurate, let your attorney know.

Exactly what has been posted by LadyInTheRed. Review the claim and make sure it is accurate! If it is not, contact your attorney and let them know why it's not accurate. This is called claim "policing". You do not want a creditor to be paid when they are either not entitled to payment or not entitled to the amount they are claiming.
