bank balance and statements for ch 13

Guys, fingers crossed it looks like Ch 13 for spouse = signing next week!!!!

Question - is the bank account balance as critical for Ch 13 as it is for 7 - NOT (in any way) that it would be above exempt amount in my state :-)

And, lawyer/paralegal said NOTHING about needing bank statements...is it different for 13 or is it district specific do you all think??? Gave paystubs, tax returns (no refund...refund? What's that??) substantiating reimbursed ee expenses, etc etc...

What does the collective wisdom think???

Just answered this in another thread that you posted the question in, but I'll repeat here: Most attorneys and trustees want to see recent bank statements, even in a Chapter 13. The district variance would be in the amount of statements they want you to provide. (Just as in a Chapter 7, a trustee and/or your attorney will be looking for deposits that don't match up with your income, large withdrawels, etc. They still do their homework even if you are filing a Chapter 13.)
    Filed Chapter 13 02/2006 - Confirmed 05/2006 - Discharged 09/2011
I'm not an attorney. My replies are merely suggestions or observations, not legal advice. As always, consult with an attorney before making any decisions.
