How much contact w/attorney's office after confirmation?

I wanted to know how often in a year should you meet w/your attorney's office to review your case? I'm required to go once a year before filing my income taxes to review my case to make sure the case is running timely. Shouldn't this information be figured out in the beginning when I submitted a ton of paperwork? It's only been six months and I'm being requested to come in to discuss the intent to pay claims. I can read well and if I'm confused I know your number, geesh.

I guess I don't understand the need to meet a couple times a year if no changes are needed. I know that it will cost me to go in for a "review", phone calls, emails, and letters mailed at home are all to my cost. Any thoughts? Am I missing something?

Technically, it doesn't cost "you" it costs your chapter 13 plan.

I don't know, sounds like the attorney is really trying to help you have a successful plan. I wouldn't begrudge them that.

It sounds like this up coming meeting is to review proof of claims submitted by creditors to determine if any objections should be filed. That is fairly normal for a "full service" chapter 13.

But in general, there is usually very little contact with the attorney after confirmation. I am actually impressed that this attorney has a system of annual reviews and is going the extra mile to object to proof's of claim.

      Thanks HHM!

I will make the appointment and not complain. I really enjoyed the extra mile comment, hadn't looked at it from that angle. I looked at it from the "billable hours" lenses and thought this was an opportunity to get more outta the plan since I'm paid in full w/my attorney's bill.
