    Charitable donation??

Ok so we might be figuring this out, atty called hubby today, he's working our #s for us & looks like we need to up some contribution type things & get some things worked & get our first payt in on time. I still have the problem that unless hubby's check comes in soon I cannot make both the BK payt & the mortgage payt on time & that has me freaked out. So I am hopeful that we will make it. I know I am making the BK payt first & on time & then go from there. It will be better when his checks start coming & we can get this together. But the stress! ugh! So as for the other issue, he tells me he wants to stay & make this work so I am trying to take him at his word on that, we have another counseling appt & I am willing to try. At this point, that's all I can do. I wish for the day when everything is not so stressed & I dont' just feel I could burst into tears at any given moment.

I'm sorry for whatever you're going through. I think I have missed the question here though.

      Babbling :- )

Sorry I must have been babbling again, lol..that happens sometimes when I'm stressed..but long story short, new job, plus marital issues right in the middle of filing & before our 341 meeting so I was kinda in limbo.
Question would be...is it normal to "up" numbers, ie., more charitable contributions etc? I don't know what all atty talked about with my husband yet, gonna find out tonight.
And the other question is does anyone have any experience on what happens if....I don't make my mortgage payt on time this month, that would only be due to waiting on my husbands paycheck for his new job, I am hoping we get our hands on it before the 11th & I can mail & get the mortgage paytment in, heck I can even call & do it over the phone but cannot do that until I get the paycheck. They have 30 days to pay him which is just torture in the middle of all this! His new job is consulting type, so when he files an invoice, they have 30 days to pay..so in other words, I have been waiting almost a month on a 2 week check! Ughgh! Stress!

I don't know about the mortgage. I think that being late going into your BK is a really bad idea, but I don't have any good suggestions for that.. As far as "up-ing" numbers go, I think it's pretty common. My attorney upped things like utilities and laundry expenses, etc. I am not sure if it is commonly done on charitable donations. That seems like something the trustee may more readily check.

If you say you are going to contribute X to charitable donations, you have to provide (at least we do) proof that you contributed X. If you only contribute Y (which is less than X), then we have to pay the difference to our trustee. We can not pay more than X or else it will be a red flag and could cause for plan revision.

i'm mostly talking about cash/tithing for church, not just taking a box of old clothes to goodwill.

OH, and whatever we paid for X in the 6 months prior to filing is the amount we can claim. We wanted to pay more and usually do but those 6 months were rough so we didn't pay as much. Now we are limited to what we can do and have made up for it with volunteering, serving, etc.
