    Judgement matter?

I read on some of the threads about getting a credit card judgement before being able to file chapter 7 or 13 bankruptcy. If your are planning to file shortly does it really matter if a judgement is awarded or not.

It's best to avoid a dischargeable judgment (for ex, criminal judgments are not dischargeable) before filing if possible. It's easier and cleaner. Otherwise when your 13 is finally over in 3 to 5 long years, you then have to go back to court to get the judgment removed. Why create that hassle and cost for yourself if you don't have to?
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
