It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Now it's hammer time!
Five long years and it's now officially over. I couldn't have done it without you bkforum. For all those following behind me, the first year (not counting the pre-bk time) is a roller coaster. You get used to it. Suck it up. Get hard. Live as lean as you can and try to save up some emergency money (like Dave Ramsey always says). It wasn't easy but we managed to scrape up $500 that first year. Then my truck broke down and it was a life saver we had that emergency fund. Saved it back up over the next year and my wife hit something on the freeway and lost 2 tires. Saved us twice. Stuff happens and in five years we got lucky that we only had two things go wrong. Now that we are done we can finally start building on that emergency fund, and we got a fresh start. We learned a lot. We live within our means. And we will never, ever, have a credit card again. Period.
I wish you all the best.
